3 DAYS TO NOTHING
(3rd Revision)
Scene 1
(Music: Miranda Sex Garden: CUT.) Black screen, then smoke appears. Abstract scenes of
twirling faces, cigarettes etc. Then split screen (half face perhaps Brandon or James?? Using
negative effect and paint. Other half sun and water effect. Title appears in the centre.) Pictures
in the graveyard. Maybe on a particular headstone. Pictures of "MARDI GRAIS " (on Navy),
multiple person effect using camera-to-monitor method. Trails etc. When showing names: have
extreme close up of television fuzz.)
Scene 2
Camera pans from sky, follows large tree in front down and focuses on the school and the Pit.
People can be seen getting out of class and leaving the school. It is a Friday. Close up of school
sign. Pan, zoom out and shows Nick walking from school to pit. He gets out a cigarette and
talks to people on his way out. Showing his popularity. Longshot of Brandon and Sindel in a
small group of people talking etc. Midshot of Brandon and Sindel. Over-the-shoulder shot when
Nick enters camera view to talk to B & S. Say's "What's up" to everyone but never looks at
them. Brandon lights his cigarette and reaches his lighter to light Nick's. Music fades.
(Sometime during this initial conversation use a "sunglasses reflection" shot.)
Nick: thanks man. So what are you two crazy kids up to tonight?
Sindel smiles and looks at Brandon for him to answer for both of them.
Brandon: I dunno man. We picked up some beers, but ...What are you doin tonight?
Nick: Kelly's having a few people over.
Brandon: seriously? What, like a party?
Nick: (hesitant) not...really. Just like 20 or so people. You guys can come, I already asked
her.
Brandon: Nice! (Pause) alright cool so....What are you doin now?
Nick blows out a large amount of smoke and shakes his head as if saying "I don't know"
Suddenly Corey enters using Brandon's & Nick's shoulders for support.
Corey: What's up? ( said very loudly, Nick laughs and pushes his arm off). You guys ready for
a night of pure beer drinkin??
Nick: Corey, my man!! Gives him five.
Brandon: alright, sounds good. Hold on a sec. (As Sindel pulls him aside)
Sindel: Brandon? What are we doing tonight?
Brandon: well. We can go to my house and chill for a while, and then check out Kelly's. If
it sucks or whatever we can always come back home to my house. K?
Sindel: Okay! (She says smiling and grabbing his arm tight)
Brandon: Don't worry about a thing baby. You know I take care of you. (Says half joking as
if a private joke. She agrees.) Where's your baby, Sindel? (She tugs on his arm even more
tightly as if to answer). That's right.
Other shot. Nick and Corey are talking to the other people in the circle. B & S rejoin them.
Brandon: Alright. Here's the plan. We all go to my house and chill, while we wait for
Kelly's house to happen. (Everyone is waiting for Brandon to say more) That's it!! That's
the master plan.
Nick: Alight. I'll tell Chris to meet us at your house on his way, so he can pick us up. Is
that cool?
Corey: Yo, Nick hold on a sec. I got something for you. (Looks pretty serious. Reaches into
his pocket and fumbles around a bit. Everyone is waiting to see what he has. He pulls out his
hand from his pocket and gives a big smile and a thumbs up) You're cool!! (sarcastically)
Nick: Man..(as if sick and tired of his crap, good humor) Shut the hell up you goddamn tool!!
(Brandon and Sindel both laugh. Brandon nudges him in the shoulder while laughing)
Brandon: alright let's go!! (still laughing at the two guys and their joking around)
Corey: Oh hold on a sec. Is it okay if James comes to. I said I'd do something with him.
Sindel: What's you have in mind?
Brandon : (Nick gives an "ooooww! Nice one Sindel!!" As in he felt that. Brandon and Corey
both smile at Sindel's joke) Yeah it's cool. Let's go! (Like he doesn't really care, he just wants
to go).
The five kids walk into the camera and music starts for opening titles.
Scene 3
Scene shows the five stars walking down the road to Brandon's house. As the music plays each
character is zoomed in and (freeze frame?) With his/her name under. When all five are done
they continue walking. Smoking cigarettes and joking around etc. SONG: WHERE DID YOU
GO.
Scene 4
As the group walks up to Brandon's house music fades into background music until over.
Nick: Yo, Brandon. What's going on with your parents? They still bitchen at you?
Brandon and Sindel exchange a look
Brandon: Yeah man. It's worse than ever right now. They just don't understand what
life's really like nowadays. They're always telling me that "I can do better" and that "I get
out what I put into something."
Corey: Yeah well, those little expressions may be nice to say but in the real world..they
don't mean jack shit!!
Brandon: Exactly!!
Nick: A well, at least you got your own pad happening. I still gotta listen to my parents flap
their old jaws. (Does an imitation of them flapping their jaws.) "Do this, don't do this, I'm a
god damn idiot, blah blah blah" (They all laugh).
Corey: No but seriously, it's all good. Don't worry about a thing.
Brandon: (looks at him with a friendly smile in seriousness) I know. (Sindel tugs on his arm
again to show support.)
Screen shows the group heading up the driveway to Brandon's house. (C.C's street) Backs to
screen.
Nick: (slightly yelling to the sky, very carefree) Whadda'ya say James?
(silence, Nick laughs)
Scene 5
Screen shows door from inside of room perspective. Keys jingling can be heard and little mumbles of the group talking as Brandon unlocks and opens the door. The group walks inside.
Screen shot of all five kids coming in. James is last, and Brandon looks over his shoulder while
still looking at the camera as he speaks.
Brandon: Last person in, shut the door.
James shuts the door, he may seem a bit upset about having to do so. Brandon lies on his bed
and the others sit in chairs. (Bean bag?) Sindel sits beside him with her feet on the ground;
holding Brandon's hand. James sits on the floor, a little awkward but not that noticeably.
Corey flips on Brandon's stereo, and opens a drawer to get a soda.
Brandon: Grab me one man.
Nick: You got any of those air crisp things left?
Brandon: No, man. You ate them all yesterday.
Nick: DAAAMN! I love those things. (James puffs out a laugh to himself) Well...you got any
chips left?? (Brandon nods his head yes and points to where they are) NICE!!!
Corey sits down again and pulls out a cigarette. He puts it up to his lips and looks to Brandon
as if asking if he can light it here.
Brandon: Yo, Corey can you go outside with that.
Corey: Aren't you having one? (Looks puzzled)
Brandon and Sindel exchange a look.
Brandon: Nah, it's cool. (Takes a sip of his drink)
Nick: You better watch yourself, or you're gonna be tweekin' off that caffeine; and I don't
wanna have to be carrying you to the hospital. (They all laugh.)
Brandon: Yea, yeah, I'll be tweekin' off your mom. Now go have a smoke!! (they all laugh
and the laughter can still be heard as James, Nick and Corey leave and shut the door. )
Atmosphere totally changes to relationship. Brandon and Sindel both look at each other.
Sindel: You didn't have to "not go".
Brandon: I know...I just didn't feel like it. It's kind of getting old. Besides, I was actually
considering stickin around a while longer, even IF my life sucks. (Sindel looks upset by this
comment) It's like I said, just stick a beer in my hand and I'm good to go.
Sindel: Oh are you?..(she says laughing; using sexual undertones)
Brandon: (going along with the joke) You know I am... (They both giggle a little)
There is a slight pause while they stare in each others eyes and smile. The pause is broken by
the outside laughter of the guys smoking. Brandon and Sindel both look at each other again,
smiling and shaking their heads.
Brandon: Those guys...(laughing to himself)
Sindel: What do you mean, "those" guys. They're YOUR guys.
Brandon: I'm not really friends with James. I hardly know the guy.
Sindel: You know what I mean. Nick and Corey...You're all a bunch of silly boys....
Brandon: (smiling) yeah, yeah, I know. (Gets very serious, and depressed) Things are gonna
be pretty different around here when Nick leaves. It'll just be me and Corey left.
Sindel: It's okay....he's only moving to the next town, it's not like he's moving to Uranus or
anything.
Brandon: (A smile creeps up on his face) Uranus??
Sindel: Uranus. (They both are smiling again)
Brandon: (gets pretty serious) I love you, ya know that. (Pause)
Sindel: I love you too....even if you are a silly boy.
Sindel looks uncomfortable as she tries to put her head somewhere.
Brandon: Here, put your head on my shoulder. (Embrace)
She does so. Close up of them holding each others hands. Then the light from the door opening
shines on their hands. Full screen shot of the two sitting on the bed. And the three guys enter
with their backs to their screen.
Brandon: (slightly patronizing, but all in good fun) Whatz up boys??
Nick: (laughing as he speaks.) Not a hell of a lot. (Smiles. He sits down on a beanbag chair.)
Brandon: Just chillin' like a villain'??
Nick: You got it!!
They all resume their positions again, like before.
James: Hey, Brandon? Do you mind if I turn on the t.v.?
Brandon: You can if you want. But it doesn't work.
Corey: Yeah man, when are you gonna get that piece of shit, TV fixed? (Can't help but
laughing, pause while Brandon thinks of a comical retort)
Brandon: Corey...I'm gonna say...from the bottom of my heart.....Shut up man. (Smiles)
Nick goes ballistic with laughter, as does Corey, and Sindel. James laughs too, but more to
himself, and kind of feels awkward. Nick reaches out his hand and Brandon gives him "five".
Nick: Nice!!
Scene 6
Music begins as laughter continues. Screen shows the group laughing and smoking cigarettes.
Clock is dissolved in the back ground. Shots of Corey and someone else dancing around
comically, everyone laughing. Spinning sensation with all shots as if time is going by. At about
seven o'clock the music dies down and the spinning stops on the group as a whole. It is dark
outside and the lights are on inside. Two or three cans and a bag of chips lay scattered in
Brandon's room. Radio is ON faintly in the background.
Nick: (blows out a puff of smoke) Jesus, What the hell is taking Chris so long?
Brandon: Does anybody know if he has the car or if he's walking?
James: Are you talking about Chris Vedderman?
Brandon: Yeah.
James: Well, I talked to him for a second, and he mentioned that he didn't have his car
tonight.
Brandon: alright, so that probably explains why he's late.
Nick: Yo, Corey, can you spot me a few bucks for beer tonight?? I have like no cash on me.
Corey: Nick....you got to go get yourself a job. That word again is job. J-O-B. job. (Pause,
screen shows Nick waiting for answer. Back to Corey; normal) Yeah, it's cool.
Nick: Thanks man!!
Brandon: Speaking of which, I think I'll start drinking now. (Reaches under his bed, and
falls onto the ground. Big laughter. Someone knocks on the door.) Can somebody get that
please, I'm a little busy, it's probably Chris.
Nick: it's about time, what'd he do, crawl here.
Corey: Yeah, I got it. (Close up as Corey goes to open the door. Anticipation music fades in.
Back to camera he opens the door. Silence, just crickets.) HEEELLOO? (He speaks as he
sticks his head out the door. He shuts it and turns around.) No one's there.
James: It's probably Chris trying to be funny.
Just as Corey leaves the door side to sit down with the others, the door knocks again. Ant. Music
plays again. He looks puzzled.
Corey: What the hell? (Is mumbled under his breathe, still puzzled)
He goes again with his back to the camera, and opens the door. Silence again. Screen shows
outside view. Corey's head can be seen looking around from out the door. Suddenly the camera
moves in 1st person perspective rapidly towards Corey's head. Horror music plays. Screen
shows full view of group and Corey looking outside, with his back to us. Suddenly piercing
screams and the sound of ripping and growling can be heard as Corey's body is suddenly
struggling violently to get free from his predator and get inside. Blood splatters on the wall
while we can still see some kind of blurry struggle very close to the camera, but it is focused on
the blood.. Screen shows Brandon look up with a dead-serious expression as the camera zooms
in it pulls out to create fast pace moving effect. Instantly next shot is Brandon jumping over his
bed to rescue Corey. The others get up almost as quick. James reaches the door first out of all
of them, but it is too late. Corey's body is pulled outside and the door slams shut, leaving only
the dripping blood stains. Every body is completely panicking. James stands with his hands
pressed against the door, as if ready to open it but not. Close shot of James and Brandon.
Brandon: What the hell are you doing? open the door, Corey's out there!! (Yelling with look
of astoundment)
Nothing is said but a close up of James revels he can't even move. He is frozen with fear.
Brandon: (he waits only long enough for the shot of James before he repeats himself and tries to
push James out of the way.) Open the god damn door!!
While he slightly pushes James out of the way he swings open the door, James says "no" but it
trails off and is unheard by the group. Same screen shot of the backs. The door is forced open
from outside, and Brandon and the rest quickly try and push it closed. The thing is trying
violently to get in. The whole group is pushing against the door, it is almost closed but the
constant pounding of the thing forces it open for a few seconds every once and a while. Finally,
they struggle and get the door closed, and locked. The relax a bit, but the thing continues to
pound it's way. Right angle full view of the room. Nick suggests bringing some furniture to
barricade the door. James is not helping to close the door. He stands there. Nick screams at
James to help bring over some furniture but James stands there in terror not able to move. After
a second, Nick gives an evil look to James and leaves the bunch to bring over furniture. Finally,
the banging stoops and the group lets go of the door and stands by it looking at each other for a
moment. (Music: Skinny Puppy "instrumental")
Nick turns around and looks at James with a very mad look. Over the shoulder as Nick walks
rapidly towards James, and pushes him in fury.
Nick: What the hell is your problem??
Brandon: (from the background, a little more calm) James. What happened??
James: (tries to speak but is still terrified) I - I I don't know. I - I j-just froze up..I I 'm sorry,
I...
Nick: Sorry?? Don't be fuckin sorry.
Sindel is extremely shaken up and is tearing and ballistic.
Sindel: What happened to Corey?? (She says screaming with tears.) That..thing it just....
Brandon: What the hell was that?? (mass confusion yelling etc.) Did anyone get a look at it??
Nick: I know one person that didn't. (Gives James an evil look) But I could arrange it if you
want.
Brandon: (mad) Alright that's enough. One of my best friends was just attacked by some
fuckin thing and you two are arguing about who helped to block the door the most!! Fuck
it who cares, (knocking a can off a table in anger)
Nick: ( yelling) Hey, Corey was one of my best friends too, so don't give me this "
almighty" bull-shit!! We gotta find out what the hell just happened and why Corey
was...(his words die off as he stops and realizes what just happened.)
The room is silent and everyone looks around. James is still standing there looking very afraid
and confused of the thing and Nick. Sindel can be heard crying in the back ground. Nick and
Brandon just stare at each other with compassion and sadness for their lost friend. Brandon
breaks the silence by sitting down in one of the chairs and rubbing his head with his hand in
thought, as he lets out a large breath (nervous wreck, in disbelief).
Brandon: (he looks up at the group as he runs his fingers down his face slowly while talking in a
calm voice) What the hell...is going on?
James: (looking very out-of it) He was just standing there and....then...that thing.....it
just......(talking to nobody)
Sindel comes over and Brandon and they embrace. Brandon starts to tear up. Suddenly Nick
turns on the radio in desperation., Breaks with a special news report. Close up of radio showing
8:00pm.. Then close ups of each person as they listen to the news.
News report: We interrupt this program for an emergency news bulletin. The Entire world
has been declared in a state of emergency. Approximately two hours ago the sun
disappeared from the earths sight. Special forces are investigating this phenomenon of
biblical-proportions at this time. It seems the sun has just completely vanished from our
Universe. Wild theories have been made from all over the world. From black holes, to
apocalyptic comings. Everyone is confined to their homes at this time while details are
sketchy. Lootings and mass murders have spread through-out the world in the panic. The
Death toll has been estimated at over half a billion people since six o'clock this evening. We
can offer no advice except to stay in your houses and homes while this strange and
unprecedented event is fully investigated. If the sun cannot be relocated this world may
indeed suffer the dire consequence of the end of all life on this planet. I repeat this is a
Global emergency!! Please, stay in your homes, it is extremely dangerous to go outside.
Mass murders have been occurring....(Suddenly it goes to fuzz, and then Nick turns it off, All of
them look at each other with horror.)
Sindel: (flipping out) Oh my God, we're all going to die in this room!!
Brandon: Hey, baby. (Not answering, still going on) SINDEL!!! (She stops and listens) We're
not going to die. First we just gotta deal with that thing behind the door. Then lets worry
about the sun. (They look into each others eyes again.) I'm telling you, I'm not going to
leave you... ever!!
Sindel: (in his arms) Promise?
Brandon: I promise.
(Focus changes from the lovers to Nick picking up the phone to see if he can call someone. He
listens for a moment, and changes expression when he finds out it doesn't work. He throws it
down on the ground.
Nick: The Fucking phone doesn't work!!! (very upset and confused. Close up of James
looking even more upset at this news. Again close up of the two lovers holding each other. Then
as the music plays on; the outside door is shown with Corey's bloody skull laying sideways in the
dirt with it facing the camera with an evil grin. Fade to black as the music stops abruptly with
DELAY. DAY 2 is shown in white.)
The screen is black after DAY 2 fades away. The sound of a rattling door can be heard. Then a
fade in to a close-up of the door & the thing trying to open the door. Pretty quiet though, just
trying to turn the knob. Slow pan to the group of four. Sindel is asleep on the bed, James is also
asleep but on the floor. It is still dark outside and there is no sunlight and no moon. Nick and
Brandon are sitting against the bed each with a beer in their hand. They look very tired and
worn out. It is silent.
Nick: Brandon.
Brandon: Yeah Nick.
Nick: (hesitant) Do you think we'll make it?
Brandon says nothing but takes a sip while thinking
Nick: (sad) That's what I thought.
Brandon: (starts a cynical puff of laughter) it's kind of funny. (Nick looks over confused.) I
never thought....(pause) I don't know.....I just never thought It'd be like this ya'know?
Nick: (cynical) I don't think any of us saw this one coming!!
Brandon: It's kind of strange, it's like... I'm trapped, but I'm in my own room.(pause as if
reminiscing) I can remember leaving parties or whatever and just the thought of crashing
on my bed made me so happy. And now...in the past 24 hours. All my reality, all the
things that I thought I could always count on.... are gone. Our best friend is gone. (Both
boys sit and take a few sips as they remember Corey. A smile creeps up on Nick's face)
Nick: I remember the night all three of us had a sleep over here when we were kids. And
we all snuck out and ran around knocking on everyone's door at like 3:00 in the morning.
Brandon: (as if just remembering now) oh yeah. (Smile) and that one old crazy guy chased Corey down the street with his bathrobe on and a boot in his hand. (Both laugh a little, then serious) What the hell is going on in the world right now? It's unreal. And Corey... ( very sad)
Nick: Well it looks like we'll be joining him shortly, and we can run around knocking on all
the doors in Hell. (Smiles both take sip of beer)
Sindel moves around and wakes up a bit. Brandon gets up, stretches and goes over and sits next
to Sindel. Close up of Nick as he puffs out a laugh of remembrance to himself. Suddenly there is
a loud pound at the door and followed by several others. The thing is trying even harder to get
in. Very loud. Sindel jumps up with a quick scream. James is awoken abruptly with wide eyes.
Starts to shake his head like he can't take it. Twisting shots of the door etc.
Sindel: Jesus Christ it's still here!!
James: Don't you see? (getting frantic) It'll always be here. It's never going to leave. It's
gonna stay until we're all dead!!
Sindel: What the hell is it? Why does it only want us?
James: It doesn't matter WHY; it just does. (Looks over a see's a cross. Wide open eyes as he
realizes something) Oh...my...God. (quickly covers his mouth after saying God. Slowly takes his
hands down. Everyone else is listening but watching the door standing up) We're in Hell.
Nick: (getting frustrated with James' crap) Could you just shut the fuck up. We're not in
Hell for Christ sake!! (Pretends to cover up his mouth, then drops and gives a sarcastic
expression)
James: (realizing he's made fun of him.) You don't know what you're doing. I think we've
gone to Hell. Or.....(close up) Hell's come to us.
Nick: Yeah that's it James. (Sarcastic) It was getting a little bit crowded down there, so
Satan packed up and decided to shack up with Brandon. You got it. Way to go James, you
solved the god damn mystery!!
James: (very angry) Shut up Nick!! I'm serious. How else do you explain all of this. The
sun disappearing? That..that....thing out there? The murders? Huh? Where's your
smart ass answers now??
Nick just gives a look of "give me a break" but says nothing. Picks up a nail filer.
Nick: Why don't we just try and kill it, before it kills us!!
Brandon: (looks at him with a not impressed look) What are you going to do give a
manicure?? The thing would tear us apart!! (Agrees and drops the filer. With an
embarrassed look. The banging gets even louder. James covers his ears and is looking pretty
crazy!!
James: (screaming) I gotta get out of here!!
Brandon: (looks over) What?? Just sit down man, we're not dead yet. (Brings him to a chair
and sits him down. The banging gets louder and louder. Close up of James plugging his ears.)
(In sequence to TRACK #9 on LAST RIGHTS. Shows room spinning and James' face.
Suddenly there is a fast pull back and lots of special effects. Then a fast zoom in and lots and
lots of 1 sec Major rapid-fire images: spinning rooms, the skull, the house & other images non
specific. Frames of different pictures to symbolize his brain going to "cottage cheese".)
James (stands up and runs for the door screaming) I gotta get out of here!!
The whole group is in shock as he tries to rip down the barricade. Nick runs over to him while
Brandon comforts Sindel. James violently pushes Nick back. Nick retaliates and grabs him by
the shoulders. There is a struggle and James opens his back and revels a gun. Both boys
struggle to the ground. There is a shot, and then, there is no movement. The door is still and so
are the boys. Nick is on top of James.
Brandon: (Runs over and pulls Nick by the shoulder over yelling) Nick!!
As he pulls Nick over to face the camera James starts to move and groan. Blood spills from
Nick's mouth and Brandon looks petrified. The camera goes down and shows that Nick has been
shot by James. Nick gets completely rolled over and James gets up. Brandon starts to breathe
very heavily and lunges at James by the throat. Sindel looks in horror as she steps back saying
only.."Nick". James blocks Brandon's arms and punches him in the stomach. Evil music starts.
Brandon is winded and stumbles back tripping over Nick. James points the gun at Sindel and
Brandon.
James: Don't FUCK with me!! I'll kill both of you if you don't open this fuckin door
NOW!!
In desperation he grabs Sindel and holds the object to her throat.
James: Open the door Brandon. (He says trying to calm down)
Brandon is helpless and scared for his girlfriends life so he reluctantly starts to pull down the
barricade and keeps the door shut with his foot.
Brandon: Why the hell are you carrying a gun man? What the hell are you...(Gets cut off by
a screaming James)
James: Shut up and open the door!! I gotta get out of here!!
Brandon: You've gone insane That thing will kill us all if you open that door.
James: (Looks with a grin and looks at Sindel) Not if it's busy with someone else...
Brandon: (looks in horror as he realizes James' plan) James...there's no way I'm opening this
door while you have Sindel.
James: It doesn't look like you have much of a choice does it? (Brings the weapon closer to
her throat; Sindel yells for help and James violently shakes her and tells her to shut up.)
James: (yelling) open the door now or I swear to God I'll shoot right now and throw her
outside.
In desperation Brandon opens the door. Suddenly, Nick lunges from the side of the camera and
grabs hold of James. Sindel gets free and runs to Brandon. Nick and James struggle more and
finally the door is flung open and Nick is pulled outside with a scream. Then James (with back
to camera) stands in the middle with door open. Quickly realizing that he cannot escape he tries
to shut the door. Brandon helps him but James is slashed in the arm. Soon they secure the door
again. After they regain their surroundings Brandon lunges for the weapon but James picks it
up first and points it at Brandon.
James: Sit down Brandon!!
Brandon looks angry but complies as he has no other choice. James starts looking around while
still keeping an eye on the two. He starts to open drawers etc. scavenging.
James: How much food you got in here? (Picks up a half empty bag of chips)
Brandon: Not enough...
James: Enough for what, two people?? Three people??
Brandon: Enough to last us maybe one more day.
James: US? (Laughs to himself, Taps a beer box with his foot) Looks like someone's been
drinking.
Brandon: (with a dead serious look) I'm going to kill you.
James: You're gonna stay there and shut up. That's what you're gonna do.
Brandon grinds his teeth. Sindel snuggles up to Brandon with tears in her eyes; trying to
comfort him. He puts his arm around her and looks down in sadness.
Brandon: Who the hell do you think you are James? You think you can just come in my
house and take over. What the fuck is wrong with you?? We're all scared shitless, but
you've just gone fuckin' insane! I...I mean how could you do that to Nick and...(is desperate
for an answer)
James: Shut up!! Just Shut up!! The only person I care about getting out of here right now
is me!! You two can sit here and rot for all I care. I'm getting out of here as soon as
possible. (Attends to his wounds)
All sit down and screen fades to black. DAY 3 Appears in white and fades away. The three kids
are sitting in pretty much the same spots as before. Sindel and Brandon are still hugged together
and James is still sitting on a chair watching them nodding of and trying to stay awake. Close
up of Brandon and Sindel. (Song: Miranda Sex Garden "Fairytales of Slavery" shows them
watching James nod off and them thinking about what's going on. Shows bonding and love.
Music fades. Sindel notices Brandon is watching James slowly fall asleep. She whispers to him
with a look of concern.
Sindel: What are you going to do Brandon? I know that look. What are you going to do?
Brandon: I don't know yet. It'll come to me as I go along. (Sindel gives a look and says his
name in a "don't do anything stupid" tone)
Sindel: Brandon...
Brandon: Baby listen, we can't just sit around and wait to see who kills us first; James or
that thing outside. We're gonna die if we don't do something now. (Sindel looks very sad)
Sindel: (starts to cry as she speaks.) I love you so much Brandon, I just want things to be
like they were. Why can't everything just go back to normal? It's like some horrible
nightmare that I can't wake up from. I want everything to be like it was....(crying softly,
Brandon is very upset)
Brandon: Stop it Sindel...(trying to comfort her) We're gonna make it through this. And
when we do, things WILL go back to normal. The sun will come back, I promise, and
we'll make a special trip to see it rise again.
Sindel: You Promise!!
Brandon: I promise baby.
Sindel: I'd be so happy...
Brandon: Hey...(points below her chin, she looks down and he flicks her nose gently and smiles.
This is an obvious fake smile to try and convince Sindel everything will be fine. She smiles back,
a little unsure, but having 100% faith in Brandon) I always could make you smile with that
one.
Sindel: It's you that makes me smile.
Gives her a kiss then slowly gets up with a look of determination. James is shown finally his
head flops down for the last time and he is asleep. Brandon is slowly creeping up. A dual shot.
James twitches a little, and Brandon stops with fear. Then he continues. Just as he is about to
grab the weapon, James wakes up. 1st person perspective of James looking over at Sindel sitting
alone. Then a quick pan and he see Brandon is right next to him. A fist goes flying into the
camera as if James has been punched in the face. Screen shows the two boys fighting.
Brandon: Now you're mine!! (He says as he decks him in the stomach and tries to strangle him.)
The fight lasts several minutes and finally while still struggling Brandon yells for Sindel to open
the door. She screams "no Brandon" but he insists that she does. She realizes that she must and
tears down the barricade. At the last second Brandon yells.
Brandon: Open it....
She does so with tears and reluctance. She stays behind the open door and Brandon gives the
final punch and James is sent out the door. Screams and tearing sounds are heard, and suddenly
as Sindel is about to close the door, James appears halfway in the room covered in blood as he is
still being killed by the thing. He grabs on to Brandon. Sindel screams "no" and Brandon tries
desperately to get James off of him he cannot. Brandon looks over to Sindel, everything is quiet.
Brandon: Close the door behind me...
Sindel: (screams) No, Brandon!!
As she cries uncontrollably. Slow-motion: Brandon gives her a last look of "I love You" Then
he is violently pulled out and the door is slammed shut with a loud echo. Tearing noises can be
heard, then..nothing. All that can be heard is Sindel crying as she is slowly backing away from
the door. She stumbles a little and curls up in a ball in the corner of the room crying and
mumbling "Brandon" Again There is a loud bang on the door. Flowed by another one. And
again another one. She jumps a little at each bang. Then zoom in of her looking at the door and
then the door. One last bang, and the door is sent flying open. The screen goes black. Then all
that can be heard is Sindel's last blood curdling scream. (High reverb). THE END appears in
white letters, as "PUT YOUR HEAD ON MY SHOULDER" plays. Then there is a slow zoom
out of the house as the song plays and the credits roll, and soon it fades to black again as the
credits run. When screen goes black, SONG, Men At Work: "Who could it be now?"
